What we cover

Every emergency that calls us.

Six common ones below. If yours isn't on the list, ring anyway, the phrase "we don't do that" doesn't come up often.
01

Locked out, no damage

Most front doors open in under 10 minutes with the right pick, with no damage to the lock or door. Snapping the cylinder is the last resort, not the first move.
02

Lost or stolen keys

Lock changed or re-pinned same visit, new keys cut on-site, old lock taken away. Insurance receipts provided if it was a theft.
03

Broken key extraction

Snapped key in a cylinder removed without damaging the lock where possible. A surprisingly common job, especially with old or worn keys.
04

Post-burglary repair

Forced entry damage, boarded up, secured, photographed for insurance, then a proper repair quoted once the urgency is over. Same-night security restored.
05

Snap-attack damage

Cylinder cleanly snapped by an opportunist. Door usually intact, just the cylinder missing. New anti-snap fitted, often within 90 minutes of the call.
06

Smart lock failure

Battery dead, mechanism jammed, app not pairing, lockout while you wait for the manufacturer to respond. Mechanical override or full replacement on the day.
How it works

Three steps,
start to Finish.

From the moment you call to the door being locked behind you, no dispatch board, no waiting room, no escalations.
01

You call

The number above. We answer. Quick chat about where you are, what's happened, and what time he can be there. Quote range given on the call, before he sets off.
02

Locksmith shows

Marked van, ID on the dashboard. Sheffield emergencies typically on-site within 30 to 60 minutes. The rest of South Yorkshire under 90.
03

Fixed on the spot

Door opened, lock repaired or replaced, keys cut, premises secured. Paid by card or bank transfer. Receipt by email before he leaves.
From our founder
"Half my emergency calls are people who've rung four locksmiths off Google first. By the time they ring me, they're cold, they're angry, and they've already been quoted £400. I want them to ring me first. So I make sure the price is honest and the phone is answered."

Pricing guide

Typical commercial jobs at a glance.

Indicative pricing. Every job is quoted in writing before any work starts. No call-out fees, no parking charges, no fuel surcharges.
Gain entry to home or commercial
from
£80
Non-destructive entry to a standard UPVC or wooden front door, day or night. Includes lock check and key test before we leave the door.
Entry to access-controlled doors
from
£150
Higher-security and access-controlled doors need a different toolkit and a longer attendance. Quoted on the phone before we set off.
Post-incident make-safe
from
£120
Boarded, secured, photographed for insurance, plus quote for proper repair. Insurance-ready paperwork on the day.
"If we can't open it, you don't pay." If we can't open your door (rare, but it happens with high-security commercial systems), there's no charge for the visit. You only pay when the job is done. Replacement parts are quoted before fitting.
Emergency questions

While you wait
for us to answer.

Sheffield: usually 30 to 60 minutes. Rotherham, Doncaster, Barnsley: under 90 in normal traffic. We'll give you a realistic time on the phone, not an optimistic one, and if we can't get there fast enough we'll say so up front rather than leave you waiting.

Almost never. Most lockouts are opened with picks, not drills. The cylinder only gets sacrificed if there's a fault inside it that can't be picked, and we tell you that's happening before we do it, and a new cylinder is fitted same visit.

Most home insurance policies include emergency locksmith cover up to a defined limit (often £500–£1,500). We provide an itemised invoice with crime reference if relevant, formatted for direct submission. Whether it's covered depends on your policy.

Pricing is quoted on the phone before we set off, day or night. No automated overnight tariff, no mileage surcharge, no bank holiday levy. If there's any uplift on your particular job, you'll know about it before we leave to attend.

Call 101 or 999 for the police report, get a crime number. Don't touch anything inside until they've been. Then ring us. We'll make the property secure that night and we can do proper repairs once the insurance side is settled.

We don't do vehicle work any more. For cars, ring your roadside cover (AA, RAC, Green Flag) or a specialist auto locksmith. Not what we're trained for.
